Well.. I decided to look further into the nice vmware image we were given of cc3, turns out theres tons of del'd files in therre !!!
And i also find out most of the stuff originated from a network share
(most of the ex-My Recent Documents folder shortcuts pointed to things like "\\smithers\CRUCIAL\RMAPPS\Direct From Server\Tools\RM Password Mirror\v1.2.0.0\nt4setup.iss")

So ... let's see. Do YOU want anything better than just a vmware image ?
Do you want MORE stuff ?
WELL, i have played around with CC3 hotfixes and it just can't be done from them alone!!!
And ..... I need some stuff if you ever want a proper cc3 server, not just a vmware image !!

And guess what ? YOU can provide it, since i don't have access !

Anything to do with Connect 2.x/CC3/cc4 YOU can find, make copies of it, 7z them, upload them, and pm them to me ... i may just be able to reverse engineer the build process to get you your very own Connect 2.x/CC3/CC4 servers ....... but i don't have any chance of being able to do this if i dont have anything except some stuff i found, etc.
You can help me, PLEASE, it'll be for your own good in the end .....

and of course, we may just find a breakthrough

Ok, let me clarify: i only want the XPSP2 update for CC3. Now i think i've figured out how binky did the vmware image, i might be able to do a guide for installing on a box ..

Binky never explained how he created the miracle he did.
I suspect he must have Links within RM; whether he himself is an employee or a friend or family member.
Copying the vmware image to the disk using something like Norton Ghost didn't work I'm guessing?

TJ_2k7: i never tried. but I see build tools left over in administrator's my documents. These may come in handy .. for i believe that all he did was run the build tools and copy stuff over from a network share .. i want to do MUCH better than this

Oh and btw, i've started getting stuff ready for a (hopefully) CC3 server install on my test box (where my half-baked stuff always used to reside). I used to just be experimenting just through setting up AD myself and doing hotfixes (!!!) of course that didn't work And i don;t mean that they didn't install .. i know a LOT about how the RM Installation Assistant works thanks to deleting pre-install actions making sure the hotfixes installed !!

Oh and btw, http://www.rm.com/_RMVirtual/Media/Down ... CC3002.exe (i think) trough to 200 and something ... you can find useful things in there .. ironically they never installed onto the CC3 vmware image (and believe me i tried !!)

Whoops, almost forgot: i might need the C2k commissioning CD. Seems the link that binky gave ages ago is down. (heh) So if anyone downloaded it, or if anyone has it, please iso, 7z, upload, pm link to me please

I know this is a double post but ..
I'm currently installing w2k3 (enterprise +SP1) on my test box.
I'll update this post with my progress ..
(I'm trying to do this without the C2K cds btw, cause i at least have the RMAD stuff, etc. It might fail, in which case i'll need the C2K cds)

EDIT; bad news guys. RMAD fails. I could hack it to work but i want everything done properly .. i need the c2k cds.

I have found out that a whole C2.x server was backed up to 4mm tapes. So if we could just get hold of one .. and a 4mm DAT drive .. then we might hit a breakthrough in regard to this.
