OK, first, you need to have IE 7 or higher installed (Major security flaw). Click on Tools >> Internet Options >> Connections Tab >> LAN Settings. This will tell you the proxy address (**.**.***.***) Type this into the Address Bar then you are in... There are some links but for me there are no links to edit the filtering settings...

Any ideas of where to go from there (**.**.***.***/admin/) or something like that...

Interesting approach,

I took the long winded road by pressing Win+F1 and loading the Help & Support Centre. I then performed a network diagnostics test where it revealed the proxy server used as well various other bits and pieces.

In my case, the proxy server is 10.217.x.x

however in order to actually get anywhere near logging in, you have to go to:

hmm.. didn't think of that... (https) but what's odd is that mine begins with 10.**.***.*** aswell... maybe its how it was set-up... But once you do that, then is there default login credentials? Is the username always 'admin'?? anyone know anything about this???

10.x.x.x is a LAN ip .. you can't get to it from the Internet at all..

I know that you couldn't access it from the internet, but is there anyway to get to it via the school's intranet through easylink? This may be a stupid idea and I may be barking up the wrong tree here or I could be onto something...
