Do you know of any test accounts that are common or standard to RM CC3, and have access to the console? I found one called 'testforrm' which they found out about because gave a friend unlimited printer credits and he bragged. Lesson learnt, don't help anyone. ever.

Tbh it would be VERY rare for any of those to actually work. If your technician has even a SHRED of sense they will lock those down as soon as they set up the network.

Been there, still there. My job sometimes requires me to cooperate with 3 large companies that you hear about almost every day. It's ironic that sometimes during restructuring those giants fire competent people. If they would just fire incompetent ones, no "restructuring" would be needed.

Another real-life example:
Last week I was working on some hardware with a systems administrator in a medium-sized company. The internet gateway router only allows per-ip access so I had to use her computer to check something. Of course, she didn't allow me to use her computer by myself. So I said: "Please open http://www.some-web-server.com/service-check". What did she do? Wait for Internet Explorer to open up the default homepage (google) and then typed in the address I gave her INTO THE SEARCH BAR. For the next 10 minutes she was trying to assure me that's how to surf the web. The sad part is: she wasn't kidding. That's what she really think. And guys, don't be a sexist just because she's a woman. Oh yeah, I forgot, that company sends her to sysadmin courses 2 times per year. Advanced courses. She always fails. When something goes wrong software/hardware wise they always outsource the job. Sysadmin, yeah right.

Not being sexist here but it's been proven that men are much better at IT than women. Apparantly they cope with stress much more effectively than women.

Phiber, with great annoyance, i have to agree with you. The amount of people i know who browse the web through search bars amazes me. I feel like slapping them, but alas, i like my job to much... I sometimes feel like crying at their incompetence. They also seem to wonder why it does not come up in google sometimes... Perhaps its because the website havent payed to be searchable??? :x extremely annoying.

There is this RM engineer who comes into where i work, to swap out PCs and fix problems which we are not allowed to do, as we are in a "managed contract" (which i hate). He is probably the biggest idiot i know. he has no idea what he is doing and i dread it when they email me saying:

**** will be out on site today...

i keep an imaginary gun in my draw so i can shoot myself....

*rant over*

It is proven that women need things to look exactly the same, to be able to use it... where as men can use something which is the same but looks different.

Such as XP and Vista. its the same thing in theory.. just looks different.

Im not sexist, i have some female ICT collegues who can use PCs fairly well. But in general terms, i must agree, men are better with ICT...

No problems LRoC. We all have to start somewhere...

Yes RM Management Console is online based at present (wont be in CC4). This means you can access it from anywhere, aslong as you can access easylink.
unfortunately, i cannot really help you with the easylink link, as it is different for each school or borough.

some tips to finding it though are:

It may look like you email address with ur name and @ replaced with "easylink".

It may be ur website address with "folders" at the begining.

hope this helps and good hunting.
