An Old RM Entry Level PC...

Postby itengineer_09 » Thu Jul 16, 2009 12:08 pm

has any one got the old server package for RM Connect 2.4, I have an old PC here which I'd like to load back up and get it running on the net for my bro -in law to play with.

It is the old 98se systems, The system is locked down tight I get the old style logon screen. The BIOS is passworded (and no the password is not rm) and I cannot press functions keys on boot up!

Even if I can get this running again on 2.x it'd be a bonus, There is no CD-Drive in it either and havent got one at hand.

If someone has got the old 2.x server image I can use it to rebuild this machine!!

SO has anyone got the old server or workstation images ??????

P.S - I know of one school here that still uses RM Connect 2.x but they won't let me have anything from the network eg an image lol..... But can you imagine a system like that still running today ???? and in a corporate environment.... The mind boggles!

Thanks

Unemployed at the moment, Trying to run my own company! Repairing and building PC's for the locals and building and helping out with networks where I live!!! Can't travel far as I haven't got a car!

I just finished working (voluntary) at a local PC refurbishment place, I have helped build networks though at one of the local colleges which they run Novell servers and XP workstations running the Novell client. Helped also some of the local schools with there networks.

Got my name down at an ISP nearby, May have to go in and help them upgrade there old Nortel and 3COM stuff to Cisco

How bout you.... You working ???

usually resetting the cmos gets rid of passwords in the bios
why are you messing with old 98 systems that are donkeys years old??
binky's vmware runs all virtually so you can just setup virtual machines left right and center. You can also have real machines connect to the virtual server if you just leave it running ... if you see what i mean

Perhaps you could make Karoo less crap whilst you're at it... ;)
