There's a Linux program called `strings` that pulls out ASCII strings from a file, which may have useful text. Any decent disassembly software has a similar function.

I've had an idea about Securus, if I use that IE trick where I can access various files, I could remove 'securusn.exe' from the Start-Up folder... I was wondering whether RM CC3 reloads start-up programs on login?

It's probably a service, or added in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

yeah, sorry about the double post, I don't know why that happened. I can edit the registry through the 'reg' command, but even on the two glitchy computers you can't access regedit... . So I'll query that reg location and see what comes up.
