Thanks. I will test it tomorrow. And can I just confirm where the spaces are in RM Smart Cache Client.exe or RMSmartCacheClient.exe

I tried both and neither of them existed. I had a look for anything else that might work and I coulden't find anything.

It should be in C:/Program Files/Research Machines/RMSmartCacheClient.exe and the process should be RMSmartCacheClient.exe, i'll turn on my rm machine here and see if i can get the installation file for it cause it musn't be installed, which network are you using?

Hey I got a bit of info together about SCC 2 and made a little cloned version for bypassing it's security.
If anyone is interested:

Clever, but simple workaround :)

Fancy posting that as a tutorial on the website?

Ict Tech wrote:okay, there is actually an exe file for it (never noticed it before) it's in C:\Program Files\Research Machines\RM Smart Cache Client.exe
The process you need is called - RMSmartCacheClient.exe (not that hard to remember).
Hope this helps - let me know.

And you claim to work for RM?? I don't think you do, pal. The RMSmartC (package name for RM SmartCache2 Client) is a packaged up IDENT server that passes the username and machine name to the SmartCache. When you try access a page, the SmartCache sends an IDENT request to the workstation. If the cache security is setup with Enabled with Security, the client is required. Otherwise, you get an "Access denied" when trying to browse via it.
