If an exploit works in the Retail version, it'll work in the Previous builds.
The upgrade version is the same OS as the fresh installation version.
And unlike Vista, Windows 7 version like Ultimate, Home premium can be installed from the same disc but you just choose what version you install at the start. You need the correct serial key for that version thought obviously.
I believe they are the same OS except features are disabled/enabled accordingly.

Thanks for the info, do you happen to know any of the current exploits that are known for the retail version of Windows 7? I will switching over completely soon and I am curious as to the security state of Windows 7. Thanks again for the info.

I'm not quite sure.
There are probably a few exploits out there but I'm pretty sure Windows 7 is as Secure, if not more secure, than Vista or XP.

windows 7 is pretty secure i would say
its like vista but with 'less' security
at least it doesnt' nagg you every 10 seconds

Windows 7 is, according to MS, the most secure OS from MS yet!!!
I'm not entirely sure, I haven't used it alot myself, but a few mates are using it and they say it is extremely fast and really good, better than XP and if it's better then XP then it's definetely better than Vista.
Although, one if them is using Windows 7 64-bit and he HATES it, he says it's crap!!!

From what i've seen so far, its rock solid. It finds all the drivers automatically! (apart from some memory card readers).. and the x64 version has a bit of trouble finding printer drivers. but otherwise its brilliant.
Pretty soon were going to be rolling it out in the National Botanic Garden of Wales, replacing the nasty Susan Boyle machines. (I've tamed the Cisco switches btw icttech )

I completely agree with your blog, i think windows Os its really good opreating system we can not compare Microsoft vista OS but why dont you not try Winodws 7 Ultimate version this is the best.keep posting we will wait for your future updates.
