The OS Debate.

Postby jd2kuk » Sun Dec 09, 2007 11:22 pm

Yeah I know it's stereotypical, but mac os X leopard's come out recently, and really does some nifty stuff.

So I thought I'd pitch the question... Which OS for the win? :D

I'll post a poll to go along with this.

PS: Mac OS X for the win! :P

Ubuntu has made a major step towards end-user linux desktop and compatibility.
However, you can't expect everybody to switch to linux and use wine for gaming.

You might want to support that with some facts. I mean, I think Windows XP is a piece of bloat. Just look at how freaking gigantic it is, what you can actually do with it, how customizable it is, and how expensive it is. Then there's permissions, every user can install programs and delete critical system files. The default user is root ("Administrator"). The command line, the most powerful interface to an operating system, the one that came with XP is complete and utter shit. It doesn't even deserve comparison with bash or any decent shell. Don't tell me you've ever used that thing for over one minute continuously, because it's hell. I love XP.

Eh? You've slagged off XP and then at the end of your statement you say you love it? lol

Lol, I love the windows XP command line; though it might not have as many available options (Hey, windows is a GUI operating system), it's probably the simplest and quickest use out of any other OS's command line.

Other than the RISC OS command line- that literally took minutes to figure out with no prior experience at all... :P
