Well, this is actually quite a nice find, as it makes it much easier to find your PDC (primary domain controller) server- you just create a shortcut to "%logonserver%" (without the quotes)

Arcanium, can you confirm that this works?

This will work - "%LOGONSERVER%" is basically a windows command to show all shared folders on the Network.

Let me explain:

Standalone PC

If you are running a standalone PC with a computername of "MYPC" then you can create a shortcut to "\\MYPC" and this will show you all the sharedfolders on the PC.
You can also create a shortcut to "%LOGONSERVER%" which will show you (again) all the sharedfolders of the PC.

Networked PC

If you are running a networked PC with a domainname of "CC3-DC01" then you can create a shortcut to "\\CC3-DC01" and this will show you all the sharedfolders on the Server.
You can also create a shortcut to "%LOGONSERVER%" which will show you (again) all the sharedfolders of the Server.

Also, because of the way we have setup the CC3 Server, all Profiles and Documents are shared so they are accessible on all PCs, if you go to "%LOGONSERVER%" and then "StudentProfile" or "StudentWork" then you will have all students in the school.
This will then show you the username.

An example:
Student - John Smith
Username - JSmith101
Servername - CC3-DC01

If John goes to "\\CC3-DC01\StudentProfiles\" he will find his profile listed as "JSmith101"
If John goes to "\\%LOGONSERVER%\StudentProfiles\" he will find his profile listed as "JSmith101"

If you get get to a command prompt, mounting the share as ICT Tech says, and then doing a `tree /a` will give you a nice list, that can be viewed in your own time.
