Viglen Classlink XP

Postby Fergie1 » Mon Jul 16, 2007 4:18 pm

Anyone got any tips on hacking into Viglen Classlink XP? I have already got into Remote Learning (Net Support) and accessed the server but then the server was removed from the selection menu.
I also got the local admin password for each computer but it didn't work for the domain.
Any ideas on what I could now?

Edit: BTW they run SIMS as the register software, any help with that as well would be appreciated. :D

Edit 2: I ain't planning on been a single post poster btw.

It's highly doubtful you'll be able to get on SIMS. Schools are required to change thier login passwords for that every week or so, due to the very sensitive data held within.

Local administrator accounts do not have any effect on domain settings. You need access to a Domain Admin account to change domain settings. But having said that, you still need to be logged on to the server itself. Logging onto a standard workstation even with a Domain Admin account would still only give you admin priveliges on that machine.

Domain admin would mean access to Active Directory settings, i.e, adding user accounts.

Yes, but unless Win 2003 AD tools are installed on the workstation you are using, which is highly unlikely, you won't be able to use active directory tools.

Considering SIMS is on every computer as well i wouldn't be surprised if the tools were on it.
(I know they are not connected in anyway whatsoever)

I found out today, Active Directory tools are built into Classlink itself so if I was to logon as admin, I would be able to access them through the Menu on the right hand side and they customized in a like a web page. (You know what im talking about if your school runs it)

Oh, well in that case then it will work for you.

But in most establishments, AD tools are not stored on standard workstations. Also, SIMS does not require the AD tools to be installed on the machine.

I know that, what I meant was the admins were stupid enough to install SIMS on all the machines so I thought there was a chance that they did the AD tools as well.
Broke up for summer now, just got to find a way to get the domain admin password.
