I can't think of a security distro nowadays which doesn't have it...
Some people are like Slinkies: completely useless but fun to watch when you push them down stairs.

You've also got to remember the old-skool basics.

ping, tracert, telnet, netstat, net, nslookup....

I wrote ping earlier (post 1) :P

Net has to be one of the most powerful commands on windows, there's so much hidden within it...

And telnet too (although I do prefer putty to the standard windows client) :)

But yes, I prefer PuTTY to the Windows one....

What are some good programs for new users? I am learning hacking in school and would like to find some good tools that are easy to use. Thanks for any help.

To be honest I don't think there is an easy tool really, it's knowledge that counts!!! :P
