You could. You see, by changing the local admin password to something you know, you have the opportunity to download the cached logon details of the last 10 people to use that workstation (i.e. their username and password). All it takes is some simple software, and you can crack their passwords! Providing those users haven't changed their passwords since you downloaded them, you can use your cracked passwords to get onto management console. ;)

There's a tutorial on this very forum I believe...

Okay, this is for anyone who has PM'd me or is going to PM me asking for a copy of ERD Commander 2005.
If you want to request a copy of this software PM me withyour username, that's all I need (so I can send the link to all the usernames that I have).
You see my laptop is currently "Under going maintenance" (oh I liked that) so I am forced to use the dell computer which of course the CD Drive doesn't read CDs, but do not worry, I have a solution.
So PM me your username and I will PM you the link :D

yes i think you do.. there is no temp boot menu on the systems that i tried
......you could however try updating the BIOS... this clears the password without having to open it up :D

It says when it starts up..... just press the tab button once (that ushally does it) and you will get rid of the dell picture at startup... then you can get the bios :D

You could always boot from USB ;)

Have you tried 'rm' as a password? (No quotes, both letters lowercase)

No.... your booting from usb, all policies etc are defined on the computers hard drive... but only when windows is booted :P
There is options when it starts... it might be that.
Are you sure its not a blue screen of death? I got that when booting commander once
