Website in .aspx

Postby ICT Tech » Sun Dec 13, 2009 12:57 pm

Hi guys,

I'm a little confused . . .

When creating a website in html the page must be called index.htm(l) then you can type the url without /index.htm(l).
Although when creating a website in .aspx format, no matter what the name of the page is when you type the url without the page name it doesn't load . . .

Anyone know what the problem is?? :P

Thanks Guys!

I believe the file should be called `default.aspx`, but you should be able to change that in the serverside config.

What web server are you using? You should be able to set the index page in the config somewhere. If it's hosted externally, and you don't have access to the config, ask the support people.

If nothing else, you can set your 404 error page to redirect to the index page you want.

If you create index.htm(l), does it load that as the index? Does the aspx page load properly if you visit it normally?

It's an external server.

index.htm(l) loads as index,
Type the aspx address manually and it loads :P

If you've got no control over the config, refer the problem to whoever manages the server.
