I want to know the exact same thing. I think you'll need to change the programming a little, as it searches for what RM user type you are, so you'll ned to change it to what Windows user type you are.

i have no idea on what you would have to do either. It probably depends on other RM services. So you prob need some other programs installed.

Can i ask y on earth you want this anyway?

The usertype indicator is set using policies, and all of the policies determine things like restrictions, I can build you a regfile so it works on non-RM computers, or you could find all of the policies in the 'SYSVOL' folder on the server.

Copy the following into notepad and save the file as usertype.reg
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Research Machines\Network Management\UserTypeIndicator]
"Icon"=dword:00000002
"InfoTip"="Xatrix Forums"
You can change the InfoTip value to be the tooltip when the user hovers over the indicator. You can also change the icon, to do this change the Icon value, here are the codes:
  • 00000000 is 'Visitor'
    00000010 is 'Red'
    00000008 is 'Turquoise'
    00000007 is 'Yellow'
    00000001 is 'Green'
    00000012 is 'Blue'
    00000004 is System Administrator
    00000005 is Teal
    00000003 is Olive
    00000006 is White
    00000011 is Red Junior
    00000009 is Turquoise Junior
    00000013 is Blue Junior
    00000002 is Green Junior
    00000014 is Transparent
    00000015 is Pink
After that run "C:\Program Files\Research Machines\Network Management\UserType Indicator\UserTypeIndicator.exe"
