easier than rm to bypass

restrictions on everything and i am a standard user
Bios password not sure bout hd

on both systems i am unable to use ERD commander, i can boot it up as far as its xp loading then it gives a blue screen error "this computer has been shut down..."didnt read the rest

ive tried many diffrent sites that ERD is avaliable on and it still wont load please could someone tell me the problem

Hello TBSparky

First, a comment on your style of posting: WTF?
I can only guess what you are trying to tell me...
please give a few more details, so that we can help you^^

Anyhow, it would be a good idea to read the rest of the BoD, as it might have some valid information :o
And, just to make sure: Is the "progress bar thingie" [sry, but I don't know how to name it] a grey-ish color?
If not, you are just booting into the "normal" Windows.

Ok, so the boot order is right.... (or you wouldn't see the greyish progress bar thing)
Have you tried booting into this ERD Commander on your own Computer? (e.g. a Computer with zero restrictions/safety?)

Are you booting from a CD or from a USB drive?

Also, there's a quote button for copying what someone else has said; it looks a lot neater ;)

Woah, hang on a second, you're galloping ahead there. You really need to try and read what it says on that blue screen, or there'll be no way we can tell you what the problem is. There's no point in wiping the CMOS unless you actually need to ;)

There is actually a way of clearing the cmos without taking the thing to bits to move that annoying jumper.
You can try (provided that thte computer has a floppy drive) a bios update. This cleares all the information thats held in the bios, including the password.
Heeby's here! :)
