Double O/S

Postby ICT Tech » Thu Mar 20, 2008 11:19 pm

Okay, Some people may look at this post and say "this guy's crazy"
BUT, I know there's a way to do this, I just can't remember how.

If you have two O/S running on the one computer, you have to start either one of them, how can you start one, but then turn the other one on aswell.

You can switch between them on the same desktop.

Thanks :P

Dual booting is what I think you're looking for ;)

What specific OSes do you want to dual boot?

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise
and
Windows XP Professional

Is it possible to boot them together, if so, how?

Cheers :P

You could, but server 2003 and xp can be dual booted no problem. Just partition the hard disk, and install windows xp to one (first), then server 2003 in the second. Make your computer boot from the second partition, and voila! :)

I've already got the two OSes installed, do I just right click the second drive (Server 2003) and click "mark partition as active"?

Hang on, can you send a screenshot of that option? (attach it to your post as a jpeg)

Sorry for the lateness of this reply, but there's no point in helping me with this problem any more, my laptop is completely F*CKED now, I think the inside pane of glass si broke, it's on of those LCD displays, it's completely mucked up, the computer loads properly, but the screen displays all these colours, you can sort of see what's on the screen, but only bits of it, I think the time has come to go and throw the laptop back at PC World and get a new one

Unless of course anyone has any better ideas, but until I seriously need to get it fixed, all the stuff for work is on it.

Anyone got any suggestions? If not i'm bringing it back
