Actually I think it looks quite neat and tidy...

I still think Microsoft should start looking at linux and mac to pick some ideas...

Stop building on XP and start building on something like Ubuntu, Microsoft!!!!!

This autumn will be very intesting, because we have a release in all three of the main OSs within a month of each other; which means we can actually have some decent comparisons, which aren't pitting OSs that are far newer against the older ones. Windows 7 vs Snow Leopard vs Karmic Koala :>

My main machine only goes into Windows when I feel like playing games. My laptop only goes into Windows when I want to use Cain/SolarWinds/Other tools. My sister's laptop, didn't have Windows on, nor does her new Netbook.

Notepad++ is about the only thing I really miss from Windows, and vim is a more powerful substitute, once you've taken the time to learn it. As for claiming Linux is too 'bulky', if you exclude my music/videos/etc, my Linux install fits into about 5GB (with a lot of apps installed). According to Microsoft, Vista Home Basic needs:
Code: Select all
20-gigabyte (GB) hard disk that has 15 GB of free hard disk space

'Too bulky'?

Right, so because you don't like it, then you say that no one does? If you want something more cut down, try Xubuntu, or something like Arch Linux.

That's a very old fashioned view. The new latest Ubuntu is far more usable that Vista, and, in my opinion, more so than OSX.

its not clunky... though it is buggy

what annoys me is that the wireless sometimes doesn't work and that it sometimes forgets that my mouse has a button so i can't click on anything and am forced to restart

but other than that its amazing! fast booting and jelly windows (ubuntu) ...

and no leet
its a pain
