I'm using ClamWin right now (based on ClamAV for Unix)- no on-access scanning, so it's nice and fast, and doesn't grind my computer to a halt.

Avira was pretty good when I used it, too.

i just use spybot S&D and windows firewall..works well enough for me..hijackthis comes in handy too

I dont run any on my laptop; i hate slowness and i hate having annoying pops in the corner and nagging windows 'you didn't activate me, do you want to do it now' and 'YOUR OUT OF DATE UPDATE BLOODY NOW!'
but im careful, i havnt managed to culture a virus on my computer in the 9 months that i've had it

I use Sandboxie too, to sandbox any apps that could potentially cause me problems (keygens etc.).

Im with BT so I get BT Net Protect Plus With McAffee. It's very good except that if it detects a file that may be 'an unwanted program' it just deletes it straight away. So a lot of the time when I extract a rar file onto my usb it just deletes it...

It drives me mad!!!!!

Avarst! It is nice but I don't understand why it has a name with "!" in and the icon is orange , they all makes me nervous, OK, maybe I am over-nervous
