Apple has been doing innovative designs for a long time now, they know what they are doing. I'm sure they wouldn't put out a design that would just die under normal conditions, the QA process at apple has been time tested.

Macbook pros run the Core 2 Duos and runs fine. If you read the article about them it details the new 45 nm core 2 duo chips they are using.

They have engineers with years and years of experience doing these designs, it's not a bunch of kids in a garage somewhere making a suitcase into a PC and wondering why it catches on fire.

No, apple are innovative and smart: that's how they make 24 billion dollars. Are you going to try deny that the ipod design was anything but revolutionary? No.

Apple put the all-in-one computer into the mainstream; their designs have been ever-revolutionary since then. Want to try and design something better? ;)

remember the commadore 64 [well neither can I, didn't exist] but anyway, that was more or less all in one and was very popular for years :D

and for desinging one myself...... i don't see why not, but i am not an electrician
the reall buzz with mac is just that it looks great... they are selling hardware at a rip off price. the osx operating system is only £80 in pc world... vistas something like £120. Its obvious that they are trying to sell the hardware
