When it was launched, Vista Ultimate version was priced at £350 in the UK but could be bought for £150 ($298) in the US. Let's assume production of Vista DVDs and box packaging was in the US, £200 difference cannot be justified by transport + minor localization + customs + taxes. All these terms may sound costly but they are just percentages on top of wholesale price.

The only thing I like is the stolen TCP stack from BSD a few years ago.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot: Vista also sucks.

God I get lost in all of the 'Wow' lol.

Really, if microsoft got rid of the new skin, got rid of the annoying 'security' and activation features, reverted back to previous architecture- and well, basically changed it back so it was XP, then I'd be happy :D

One I thing I do like is the fast installer though, I was pretty impressed by that

WIndows vista is s**t :D

I am currently on windows vista, and I find it very satisfactory. It is completely (to my knowledge) backwards compatible with XP, plus it has a smoother look, and, as was said, faster downloads. You people are complaining about security threats all the time with windows, and yet when Microsoft comes out with an OS that, while it can get repetitive, delivers much more security, you people mock it! I'm not saying that it doesn't have a few bugs, but even your almighty XP had a rough beginning. In fact, ill dare you to name one windows OS that hasn't!

Just give them time to fix the kinks people, sheesh.
